Think Happy...29/52...

Hooray for an on-time post, woo! Haha hey everyone, how's your week been? I hope the weather held up for you guys, it wasn't too great where I live.

1. On Wednesday I danced with some classmates at a nursing home nearby. It was a warm morning so I decided to walk the 10 minute walk along to the home. I met up with a friend I dance with and we sat in the reception area for twenty minutes, waiting for everyone else. I did her hair in the meantime - I never thought I'd be able to do a bun with only five bobby pins!

When we got around to dancing, I did our 'Doll On a Music Box' dance with Beth, 'Think Of Me' with Beth and Lauren, and 'Everbody Dance Now' (which we danced in London) with some of the crew. We had to go to another part of the home and dance them again, so we did the two ballets, and for the street dance (also from London) we did 'Dibby Dibby Sound'. I've got to say, the Doll On a Music Box dance turned out the best I think. Rocky also did some freestyling, including some headstands/spins!

The people there loved our dancing, and it was so lovely to see their smiling faces! I think we're dancing there again on May 5th, so that should be good.

2. I've just been so lazy! I haven't done much at all. I've revised a little bit, ate a lot, smiled a lot more and slept for a long damn time! Life just doesn't get better.

3. After dance class yesterday, I went along to a dance shop nearby and bought some new dancey things!!

Here are my new pointe shoes! They Suffolk Solos, in size 6 X. I'm not over on them yet, obviously as I haven't broken them in, but the ladies in the shop loved them on me, and so do I!

These are my Bloch canvas split-sole ballet flats. They are so unbelievably comfy and fit me perfectly! They're a size 5, one size smaller than my street shoes, but I prefer them tighter than loose.

And I couldn't leave you without photos of my convertible tights. They're so much pinker in person, but they fit perfectly. My old ones were baggy and sagging at my knees, but these are the exact opposite. A bit thinner, maybe, but a better fit all round.

4. I got my penultimate costume for the dance show yesterday in pointe class.

I love this so much! Alright, I admit it makes me look and feel like a peacock, but it looks amazing in our dance! ('On My Own')

5. I'm discussing a photoshoot with Hannah as we speak! It's all very exciting stuff! I'm also revising, maybe I should have started it sooner in the holidays!

6. My personal life is going pretty well too. I've been talking to my friends a lot, having a lot of heart-to-hearts and the like. Also, my friend Shane has his own blog! He's an awesome guy, and it'd be great if you could pop on over here to check it out!

If you made it this far, thanks for reading! Let me know what you think - do you like the amount of photos I've included or do you thing I should cut down? And is there any content you'd like me to include? I hope you enjoyed this post.

I have exams all of this week at school, so wish me luck!!

Tunesday...

Just a quickie today, I hope you like it!

Think Happy...28/52...

Wow, I've been MIA again! It really feels like blogging has become a chore recently, what with how busy I've been this holiday, which is not a nice feeling at all! It may just be the huge masses of photos I need to search through and edit. But here goes, last week's Think Happy which would normally have been posted on Sunday.

1. Towards the start of the week, the weather was absolutely gorgeous! A little chilly at times, but the skies were blue and the sun was out. I spent a lot of my time out in the garden with my camera.

2. I had a mini photoshoot with my brothers. I can't show the photos I took of them yet, but here is one my brother took of me.

3. Easter! I got a lot of chocolate!

4. I danced in London on Sunday, at Sadler's Wells Theatre! It was such an incredible experience! Photos to follow!

That's all for now! See you soon!

What I Really Need Now Is...

Recently I've been thinking about what I'd like to do next within the dancing part of my life, and I came up with a couple of ideas. The first is to get my left and right splits flat, since I'm not quite there yet; the second is to get my scorpion and then my straight-leg scorpion.

So I know what I need to do to be able to get my splits, and I'm stretching and practicing for them every day. That's manageable. But my scorpion is a whole different battle. I've done some research and I need to work on my shoulder and back strength and flexibility, and open up my hip flexors a bit, but without a coach it's difficult to get the positioning. I took some pictures so you can see what I've got at the minute.

From looking at these photos, I can see that my hips aren't squared and my leg is pushed out to the side. Another thing I found is that I can't reach my leg with the opposite (left) hand when I'm bringing my leg up behind me. I know I need to work on my back flexibility for this but, yet again, it's difficult without a coach.

This is a scorpion as I'm attempting to get (more from dance, not cheer).

That's about as much as I can explain. If you have any tips at all, I would be so grateful if you could help me. If you know someone who might be able to help, please share this around as I need as much help as I can with it. Just drop a comment down below :)

Thank you in advance!

Tunesday...

Hi all, this week I thought I'd give you a song that sends shivers down my spine. I don't know if I've already shared the original song with you, but I hope you really enjoy this capella of My Chemical Romance's Sing!

Think Happy...27/52...

Hey! I'm on Easter break now for two weeks, so I should get round to posting a whole lot more! This post is, yet again, a day late but I have some pretty photos to show you guys. Be prepared for a post that is more photos than writing!

1. On Friday night I went on an expedition to the end of my estate. I took my little brother along with his bicycle so he could get some exercise, I felt similar to 'walking a dog'! But the main focus on the walk was to get some photographs of the gorgeous blossom tree at the school I used to go to. It's actually planted inside the school grounds but most of it overhangs the road, so I wasn't trespassing.

And of course, I'd timed our walk so that we got to the tree as the sun was setting, so these shots just seemed to happen too.

At this point, my brother's two friends were outside with their bikes as well, so I took this opportunity to have a mini photoshoot.

As I was walking my brother home, the sun had almost set, and this is what I saw from the other end of the estate by my house.

2. On Tuesday I had a meal out with the cast of Cats at the local Italian restaurant. I had such a good time with everyone - the whole cast was there except James and Shane. We ended up taking a lot of photos, chatting and just catching up, although it had only been little over a week since most of us had seen each other!

I wore a cute dress and wedge heels, unfortunately I didn't get a proper photo of my whole outfit though.

Nasty lighting and blurriness, but myself, Imogen and Imogen :)

3. We had two super rehearsals for London this weekend! Oh my gosh, it looks so good now! Next Sunday before we leave for London, we are going to be performing at a memorial for Joel, a boy we danced for last year and many of us knew. I can't wait to perform, both there and at Sadler's Wells, it really will be such an experience!

Thank you for reading this far, and for browsing the photos! I hope you have a good week, mine will consist only of revision and dance!

Think Happy...26/52...

This is it guys! The halfway post! It's been half a year since I started this series, and I'm so proud to have made it this far. But at the same time, it's gone so quickly, so I guess that's making my sense of pride a little bit unfair! I don't know how much sense that makes to you, but it works in my head :)

But this week has been a mixture of emotions. It has gone very quickly, as it always seems to do, but some parts weren't as good as I had hoped. But some good things did come out of it!

1. The weather has mostly been spring!

2. All of the flowers are starting blooming and the colours look so beautiful :)

3. We've had extra rehearsals for our London rehearsals today and it's all coming together so well! I can't believe we're going to be performing there in two weeks time, it's all come around so quickly. I think it's because I was so focused on Cats for such a long time that this has just crept up on me.

Today we were dancing out in the car park (it's such a huge space, and there were no cars around!), and it was looking so good! Then all the parents turned up to pick us up, so we had an audience. My friend Jack, whose little sister I dance with, was sitting in his car watching as well. So that was fun!

I think that's all I have time for today, but as soon as all of my exams are over (in about a month's time) I will be posting more (hopefully). Bye for now, have a good week!
